Baker & McKenzie targets 1 billion dollars revenue from Asia

The international law firm, Baker & McKenzie Is planning for to expand in the area of Asia Pacific and with the target of earning 1 billion American dollars from here. These are the words of regional chairman, Gary Seib of the firm.

According to Seib the main agenda of his firm is to take the firm – which has 17 offices in Asia Pacific – to “the next level, by having the best people delivering services to the best clients”.


“Although the Chinese economy has slowed, it is still growing at 6.7 per cent a year, which is higher than any western countries,” he said.

We have an on-the-ground presence in seven of the 10 Asian economies. Combined with our strong capabilities in mainland China, we are well positioned to assist Chinese companies with their investments in Asean countries,” Seib said.

He also added that India can also play an important role in the company’s plans in Asia, since the country is presently the most-targeted investment destination for Asian firms, while at the same time Indian firms have also grown their outbound M&A activity 12.9 per cent in value during the first 10 months of 2016.

“Baker & McKenzie has more than 300 India-focused lawyers globally, who can advise our Indian clients on outbound activities, and multinationals on all legal and commercial aspects of inbound investment to the country” He said.
