Bengali school attacked for not celebrating the prophet’s birthday

Bengali school attacked for not celebrating the prophet’s birthday — In the Howrah district of West Bengal a teacher who is in charge of Tehatta High School wrote a letter on 16 December to Uluberia police station.

In the letter it was mentioned that there were some students of the 9th and 10th class that were helped by some outsiders with whom they had forcibly entered into the campus of the school and had celebrated Nabi Diwas that is the birthday of Prophet Mohammed.

This happened on 13th December that too without taking permission from the school authorities.

But with the entering of these outsiders the school authorities felt unsafe and closed down the school for about ten days but during these days the administration had meetings with the representatives of the Islamic community with whose convincing the school was reopened only with the assurance that the Nabi Diwas would be celebrated.

The representatives of the Islamic community argued that Nabi Diwas should also be celebrated because Saraswati Poojan is also done in the school although the school claimed that it was more a cultural festival rather than the religious.

There is also a video linked below in.which hardcore elements are protesting for the celebration of the Nabi Diwas.
