If you force me to dress according to your religion I will boycott the championship
The shooting championship to be held in Iran is in controversy, a shooter Hina Sidhu has boycotted it opposing the forced rule of wearing a Hijab.
In December, Asian Air gun Championship is going to be held in Tehran. Hina said to Times of India that Forcing the tourists and the sportsmen to wear Hijab is against the sportsmenship, hence I will not play there.
It is officially written on the website of the championship, that the women should be wearing the cloths according to the Islamic tradition within the shooting range and public places.
Hina said, You must follow your religion and let me follow mine, but if you force me to follow your religion then I will not play in this tournament.
Hina also said, that she has played in other Islamic countries as well but only Iran forces the dress code and hence I have rejected this tournament earlier as well.
It is to be noted that Hina has won this tournament, held in Delhi last year, a gold medal. Now in her place Harveen Sarao will be sent to play there.
